Objective
- To arrange training and to select 12 work units using Halon 1301 fire extinguishing substance of fixed system so as to carry out a pilot project for the phase-out of Halon 1301 and to use other substance as a substitute
Qualification
- Government or private agencies using Halon 1301 fire extinguishing substance of fixed system and wishing to change the system to other fire extinguishing substance which does not deplete the ozone layer
Details of Support and Assistance
- To arrange for an adviser to conduct investigation and prepare proposal concerning the selection of substitute substances;
- To arrange for an adviser to design and quote the median price of the fire extinguishing system as selected by the project attendants;
- To arrange for an adviser to provide suggestions regarding the selection of a contractor to install the system designed;
- To arrange for an adviser to provide suggestions during the installation of the system designed;
- To arrange for an adviser to jointly take the test on the fire extinguishing system installed by the contractor as designed;
- Payment of grant as partial support for the system replacement.

- Advertisement of the project and acceptance of application forms
- Preparation of action plan to phase out of Halon 1301 substance and to use other substance as a substitute
- Installation of fire extinguishing system that uses other substances to substitute for Halon 1301
- Disbursement of grants for the equipment cost
- Preparation of reports
