Puey Ungpakorn Institution, in cooperation with the Institution for Small and Medium Enterprises Development and the Thai Bankers’ Association, has carried out a program which aims at enhancing the standard of good corporate governance, with distinction to be presented to SMEs with good governance in their business operation, i.e. operating their businesses with integrity, transparency, accountability, fairness, quality, and efficiency under code of ethics as their priority in business operation. As regards the selection of the candidates, the Thai Bankers’ Association will have each banker member send in a list of qualified enterprises. Selection will be based on their financial statement submission, tax payment, and complaints filed by the Revenue Department, Ministry of Labour , and Ministry of Commerce. After that, the working group will visit the selected candidates for further assessment and scoring.

Cooperating in the above Good Governance Award Program, TMB has sent its representative to join the working group in business visit since 2003. The Bank has advertised the program to its customers as well as nominated qualified customers for the selection. In 2009, one of the Bank’s customers, Accurate Technology Co., Ltd., which is a manufacturer of washing machines, dryer machines, and industrial ironing machines under the trademark ”IMAGE”, received the good governance award for customer service – a reward to be regarded with great pride.
